wallet at low water

hiya

we are hoping to go from fambridge to ipswich tomorrow morning and wondered about the wallet spitway, however it will be near low tide when we get there.
anyone been across there at low tide recently...

If you go through at low water, you will see over 2m minimum.
But I wonder why you would want to go against the tide all the way up the Wallet?

I would leave at HW-1.5 at Fambridge against the dying flood, and get a fair way up.

I can usually make Shotley from Bridgemarsh in one tide.

thanks very much for the advise, we hope to get to the wallet spitway well before low water but we have a teenager who is meant to be coming with us so we might run late...
we are going to ipswich so want to get the flood going up there, then down to shotley for new year.

Lobster Pots

There are two sets .. Both appear to be old plastic bottles tied together about a meter apart .. You will find them just after the Life Boat Station in a direct line to the Orwell .. On the way out of the Crouch it is rather shallow at ..

Between Swallow Tail and Ridge Bouy's 4 hours after high water there was 1.3m

But at your speed you will probably not notice ..

Keep a sharp lookout for pot buoys off Clacton and Walton too. We went that was a few weeks ago and there were quite a few close in.

When do you think you'll be at Shotley ?

thanks very much for the advise..... yes we see the pot markers.
got back yesterday and went across an hour befor low water and had 9ft reading.
shotley was nice, been there a few times in dabsolute but that was 2005.
not changed much still nice
