Normally two plates, handed one for port and one for starboard
Don't discount them just yet.Last time I used mine,I put it on every time I go offshore,I had a 5 mile difference from the GPS trip in 1000 miles.Ah ha! I've seen those plates on older boats, and idly wondered what they were for. Best I could come with was an ensign staff, mounted in what seemed a rather vulnerable fashion
Trailing logs rather predate my sailing career.

I'm surprised it wasn't more - one measuring distance over ground and one measuring distance through the water.
In any case, doesn't this fall under "never go to sea with two clocks - always one or three" ?

I only have one impeller left. Has anyone found a replacement?
