Waiting for post, may as well make some mast steps.

Slight confusion as I didn't hit send (Cooking) but depends on the gun..
Also, how flat is the mast at that point? Three in a row depends on a curved bracket, or a flat mast?
You are correct, there is a slight curve to the mast which is why I will be bedding them onto a self setting compound, i could use small stand off washers but dont think that they will be necessary. As for the rivet gun, mine fits ok.

Have you checked that the rivet gun can fit ?
Not a problem, I was expecting being asked how I was going to drill through the bracket.
All the steps were drilled using a pre drilled Stainless steel template. The Template will be used do drill the mast and is marked step side and mast side to ensure perfect hole alignment for riveting.

What alloy of aluminium did you use and are you having them anodised?

Hi Jonathan, choice of material was very limited hence going to the trouble of painting. Tenerife has very little industry and is focussed on Tourism and construction, importing anything is a nightmare hence the title of the thread.

Unfortunately my small pension will not stretch to mast removal and I am not going to enjoy going aloft but I'm sure its better than Antifouling. I am looking at changing the standing rigging and back stay to Dyneema and building my own ultrasonic antifouling system.
Forget the idea of ultrasonic antifouling. (useless) I fitted dyneema back stay on the little boat (fractional rig) but chickened out on shrouds and replaced with stainless steel. ol'will
