Waeco CU54 Thermostat

I am trying to replace the thermostat for above unit which has a VD-07 evaporator plate, as part of a process of elimination to try and sort the problems I'm having. The existing thermostat is a Danfoss 077B0161. Although the exact one is not traceable, I cannot for the life of me find or get anyone of the numerous suppliers of numerous types of thermostats to come up with the equivalent. This cooling unit is still available as Dometic CU55 so there must be a thermostat out there somewhere. Dometic just bat me off to their agents who quite frankly have less idea than I do, so I really have hit a brick wall. Is there anyone out there who can advise please?

The following is listed as a replacement for your thermostat - not in this link but there are several German sites that cross reference it. Also worth posting what the issue is here just in case its something else. Penguin refrigeration also have some very good diagnostics / videos on their website.
