Dear all,

I have just tried to install a new Waeco cu-55 unit. On initial startup all was good the fan and compressor kicked in and cool plate started to cool the box. After an hour I noticed the compressor was no longer running and the thermostat controller does not click when rotating dial. The fan is still running. I made a mistake when first setting up by being confused as to where to connect the green/ yellow wire....I foolishly expected this to be an earth of some description and could not understand why the diagram said connect it to the live feed to the fan.....I now realise that this is probably to feed power to the controller.....oops.
So I have now connected the green/yellow to the fan + terminal but still no joy. The led light on the controller is not and has not been on at any point. Is this definitely an electrical problem or does is sound like I have lost the gas from over tightening? Any suggestions most welcome. Kieran

Check the fuse, low refrigerant compressor runs continuously.

Thanks Charles, excuse my ignorance but where is this fuse?

I don't know precisely where the fuse might be, there should be one on the live lead into the unit. However if you fitted the unit yourself and omitted to put one in, then cross wired the fan, your problem may be more serious and you need a far more expert and informed specialist investigation than this site could provide.
As Nigel suggests, re-booting the internal DC/AC transformer may get it working again - just switch off for 10' and then on again.

I placed an in-line fuse on the live input to the unit this fuse is fine, but I know that because the fan is running. I have not cross wired the fan either, originally I didn't connect the live feed to the controller (green/yellow wire) I have now connected it but the LED on the controller does not light and the thermostat does not click as I turn it. And compressor does not run.
