I have searched the forum for solution to this issue to no avail

Fridge has 240v and 12v

When on 240v, the Fridge is on and light comes on inside but there is a red light flashing every few seconds and there is no cooling, it sounds like the fan etc is constantly running.

When i switch off 240v and switch in 12v supply the fridge works perfectly

Everything i have read so far is related to the opposite of this scenario (ie works fine on 240v but low voltage when switched to battery)

To summarize, fridge comes on in either 240v or 12v but only cools when supplied from the 12v side only (ie 240v disconnected)

Any help would be appreciated.

It’s the voltage controller .
See my post here …Waeco CB40 Coolmatic

We used to carry up to 3 spares and eventually go through them in the Med .
As I said S/Skr La Napoule gave them away if they knew you where a DIY kinda guy .Just one less call out in the season for already stretched tech support team .

Sounds as if the built-in control unit (part 10-02-bd35fb?) is not working.

If using 240v when on shore power would that mean at the same time you're charging batteries and therefore as well could run the fridge off 12v?
Else I'd be looking to fit an inverter and feed 12v to it directly. Power draw is 5.9 amps (48 watts at 12v) so inverters are plenty available.
