The seal in the lid of my Waeco CF40 has perished, the fridge/freezer is about 10 years old and still works very well.

I need to replace the seal, more officially the lid gasket, and I'm having problems finding one.

I doesn't have to be a direct replacement, it could be a length of sealing strip of the correct size.

I've tried foam self adhesive strip, but that absorbs water and then the water freezes, that "glues" the lid shut.

Does anyone know where I can source either the correct lid gasket, or a sealing strip?

It's about 5mm x 2mm and I'd need about 2m, it's foam filled, but the outer surface is sealed.View attachment 70178

Have you tried contacting Dometic UK Ltd service centre at Blandford St Mary,
0870 330 6101 ?

There is where any Waeco product needing repair is sent. If anyone has what you need, it will be there.

Failing that, a DIY repair would be to remove all traces of the original seal, thoroughly
clean and degrease where it was, and then run a thick bead of silicone sealer where it used to be. Before the sealer sets cover the surface with cling film and close the lid.
Allow to set, open up and remove the cling film carefully. Trim all round to tidy up and
you will now have a custom fit seal.
