THIS IS A COPY OF THE THREAD ON 'AD HOC WATER EVENTS'.
I might get more interest in this forum!

This is one for those of you who enjoy dinghy racing sailing.

The Walton & Frinton Yacht Club's Open Week 2012 takes place from Wednesday 1st to Sunday 5th August 2012.

The courses will cover a wide range of situations, from open water, to rivers, to mudbanks, to moored vessels and much more. You will see the Secret Waters made famous by the author Arthur Ransome of Swallows and Amazons fame. The Walton backwaters being the setting for the later books of the series.

It does not matter what your abilities are, the week is for you to enjoy, although there will be some who go out to win, most will be happy just taking part.

If you are not familiar with the area I will try and arrange tours of the proposed racing area to help you find your way if you decide to take part.

Full details and entry form can be found here

Pond for All/Part of Open Week?

If you want to be in the thick of it but stay afloat in a bigger boat!

High water times are good for access to/from the WFYC Pond.

PM for any extra details you may require.

The W&FYC's Open Week starts in a few days. The interest shown so far suggests there will be 40+ dinghies on the water throughout the 5 days.

Although a number of you will just show up on the Tuesday evening (Registration) without any prior warning, it helps us if you could let us know in advance so that we can better prepare the event.

So, please registar your interest, come along, meet your rivals(!), and enjoy yourselves.

Thanks
