Took the boat out yesterday for a quick blast to check that all was ok following annual service. Surprisingly the hour meter had come back to life (usually only works in the summer) but this time it was alternating between the hours and the word "error". Everything seemed to be working fine, so is this something I should be looking to get sorted or just ignore? The engine is a 2003 KAD 300 with 400 hours.

Mighty fine looking boat, sir !
I would just leave it.
If you can use some glue, pliers and a soldering iron, you can replace the hour counters yourself. I did it a season or two ago- after years of not bothering, and I did have a few mistakes on the way. Only final drawback is that I wired them into the ignition so you do sort of have to remember not to leave it on !
