VP injector seals?

Hi everyone.

Judging by the black mist coming out of the sleeve of the injector on my port engine (AD41B's) the seal has blown/gone/destroyed itself. Anybody changed the injector sleeve and/or injector seals on VP AD41's? Hardest bit getting injector body out me thinks?

Any tricks that would be helpful

No its easy if you have the correct tools, if you havent its not easy as the sleeve is surrounded by coolant, you need the tool/puller that holds the sleeve in place and pulls the injector out, you can then either replace the sleeve, tool again req, or recutt the sleeve face with yet again the correct tool.

If its blowing by it will probably come out easily. Try it gently without disturbing the sleeve.

I have done a couple of these on my 41a's ...like volvo paul says you need the correct tools. I think the puller was £15 and the sleeve puller about £30 from the local volvo agent. You can get swedish made pattern sleeves from trickett. It's a straighforward job with the proper tools, just remember to drain all the coolant first.
