VP DPE drive shift cable replacement.

Is it easier to fit a new gear shift cable by feeding it in from the drive end. Or from the lever selector end inside the boat out to the drive. ?

I've always done it from inside out. Especially when the boat is in the water. Damn liners fall into the bilge and start sinking your boat while you're under it.

Oh yes. It's a sod to do the cable clamp, a long reach 11 spanner helps there and you cant do the job beached with the legs up and no way am I paying 500 quid for a liftout to do a 20 quid job that takes as many minutes. Just sit on the anticavitation plate and be careful not to drop anything. Keep spare 7mm nuts washers and split pins. In the med you'll be fine. Your hands wont get cold.
