I have noticed that my compressor belt is starting to shred, I am looking for advice on changing it, says in manual that I will require a vp special tool to tension the new belt advice please

Yes thats right it a torx type socket, the belts may be going as ribs tend not to have very good engine protection against sea water entering the engine bay and flooding it, then the rust starts so id check the pulleys are rust free as that will ruin your belts, also check that the idler pulleys are not seized up.

Thanks for your help I have ordered the new belt and the tensioning tool hope to get it sorted at weekend, any idea what tension to apply on inner belt, it only gives setting for outer belt in manual, Thanks again for your help.

tension

you will need to torque the alt belt.

new torque settings are 70nm tension on the 1/2" square section. then torque the 2 locking bolts to 50nm
