VP Air filters etc. Part No. cross reference = big savings.

Sorry if this a very boring old or repeated posting.
Following a tip off a while back I followed the usual route of sourcing my replacement air filters from my local spares shop again with predictable significant cost savings.
I cannot see any difference whatsoever in the items (from VP o.e.) apart from the name on the boxes and painted name on the side of the filters. I feel certain that somewhere is the sole maker and / or VP used an 'off the shelf' filter for their revised engine set up in early 90's.

Volvo ad41b 200mm dia (early) each
Volvo part no. 858488 Price £25.99 + Vat (July 05 bill) !!
Keyparts part no. 858488 £20.27 + vat (Jan 07 list)
Unipart AG490 £6.32 + Vat (sept 05 bill)

In advance of a rush sell out I decided to buy six !

Certain there will be many others for the more mundane items as well.

i have them for Caterpillar 3208's 435 hp from CAT to Mann filter and Fram filter = big savings.
Ill post them as soon as i am back from the boat.

Just checked my VollyP book and Air filters,Oil Filters,Fuel filters,are all the same for 41,42,43,44,and 300`s.

Just checked air filters and I believe 41's to be different. 42,43,44,300 take the 876185 which I think is a flat rectangular one

42/43/44s use the filters from Volvo 240 diesel cars, B100 (or maybe 200) engine. Search back - I posted a list of cross references and automotive applications for these engines a while back

Fuel filter from Volvo 740 2.4 litre turbodiesel, Unipart GFE5304, Halfords HFF205, Fram P4183
Air filters from Volvo 240/340 2litre diesel (B200K engine), Unipart GFE2133, Fram CA4365

Halfords filter for a KAD 44 is a HAF237 around £9, as they are so cheep I change mine twice per year

This link may (or may not ) be useful. Click on the Halfords number of the filter and it will tell you all the cars that fit it. Might be useful in foreign parts with no Halfords so the equivalent can be tracked down. eg The Seat Ibiza diesel fuel filter will fit my KAD43
