VP 2003 thermostat

The saga continues - we now have the water pump off and lots of other bits on the floor.

Anyone know if you can get the fresh water pump refurbished or does anyone sell them on exchange?

Also need a new thermostat - well it's say it's from 04-83? And whilst it's all in pieces I thought I might as well replace it. Anyone know an alternative to the Volvo genuine at £30?

The fresh water pump is the most crazy thing I've ever bought from Volvo. In Holland they want to have over 700 Euros for it. And need to hand in the old one. I managed to buy a refurbished one at almost 400 Euro. My car that uses a pump two sizes bigger has a new pump for 150 Euros. I cannot understand this rip-off. But I did learn to live with this scam. The refurbished one was sold to me by the Volvo Penta distributor by the way.
By the time you've paid for the pump you will be laughing at the price of the thermostat

I can recommend this company they tell me they can rebuild any pump and in the past we have thrown them some stinkers and they always come up trumps.

you will need a vice, hammer, some sockets and a blow lamp to strip and rebuild.
