Boats in the water so need some help... the boat will be coming out of the water for the weekend soon and i need to replace one of the threads ie... put a helicoil in to the saildrive housing to attach the ring anode. (it's only held on by one at the moment)

Before i buy a helicoil insertion kit just need to clarify the thread.... I'm guessing at a metric M6 with 1.0 pitch...

anybody have any ideas. or knows of a manual on the net, or got a ring anode in front of them ?

tia

Thanks for that so i assume wrong and it must be M5 x 0.8 same as the ones for anode on the folding prop.

if you get a chance can you tell me the length of the thread on the counter sink screw, will give me an idea of length of helicoil to buy.

thanks again /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

NO!, the ring anode screws are larger than the prop anode ones, allen headed. They measure 4mm over threads and are smaller pitch, 8mm/10 threads.

length under CS head for m5x1mm is 20 mm includes thickness of cs head. Thread length 15mm
