I have a problem with one TAMDP74 fitted to a Sealine T47. It is slow to make cruising revs, ie:2200 to 2400 rpm. Occasionally it fails to make more than 1500 rpm. I have eliminated fuel contamination as the cause.

I think the cause may be related to the EDC system. There is a vacuum pipe which connects the inlet manifold to the "brain" and this can get blocked by water (condensation in manifold?) and prevent the "brain" from asking the turbo to cut in.

Am I on the right track and if so is there a cure?

Any advice appreciated.

Richard.

Hi yes you maybe on the right track, if water has been present for sometime then the switches fail, new ones req, easy job just 4 torx headed screws to remove the side plate on the brain, unscrew the pipe union and unscrew the switch taking care not to damage the brain housing.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THE T PIECE BEFORE REMOVING THE SIDE PLATE AS THE PLUG IS IN THE SWITCH AND WILL DAMAGE THE LOOM.
