I have ordered volvo’s tool for removing injectors - any tips for use or is there a better alternative as reports say Volvo tool is not great! Also when refitting injector copper nozzles do they go in dry with no sealant or should they be lubricated with copper slip or fitted with loctite 262 for example? Any advice on proceedures would be appreciate. Thanks

Ate fitting new copper sleeves or just injectors ?
If your not ok with doing a job like this your playing with fire .
For this job there are 4 special tools required plus a system tester .

Thanks for your reply - I have got a blow by coming from one injector, therefore I am going to remove it and inspect condition of sleeve. Assuming the worst I expect the sleeve to be faulty . I am getting a removal tool and a mandril to fit new one. I will refit the injector as engine was running fine before this happened. What are the four tools? I thought I had it covered with the injector puller, sleeve puller and mandrill.

You might get away with the cleaning brush

My experience was that having got the injector out without displacing the sleeve, the inside of the sleeve needed cleaning of the crud that accumulates over decades before fitting the new and there did not seem to be a good way without material falling through the injector hole and into the bores. My cylinder heads were coming off anyway so not a problem in my case but worth considering.
