Volvo TAMD 22

What engine power is a Volvo TAMD 22. A boat broker has a boat for sale and they say the engine power is 150 hp. I know nothing about Volvos. It was only after looking at the engine last week that I realised that I did not see a Turbo. The Engine is a 4 cyl. Surely for a non turbo diesel to be 150 hp it would have to be 5 or 6 cyl. Or has it a Turbo and I did not notice.

Tamd22 105 hp 4cyl turbocharged and aftercooler 1994-98.

If its not got a turbo then it's an MD22 which is about 60hp

Your options are;

a) broker not knowing ... as it should be listed as a 105 HP engine ... non-turbo much less
b) it is tuned by someone claiming it to be 150 hp, in which case I'd run away...

In german, but clearly states 105 Hp... out of the 1.9L high reving engine with 4500 RPM at WOT....

Volvo TAMD 22 is actually the good old Perkins Prima 84mmX89mm 1994 cc four pot direct injection motor.

In turbocharged and charge air cooled for was a healthy 76kW or 104.56 SAE Horsepower @ 4,500 rpm. Real nice, reliable, economical, slightly noisy old motor.

Suggest just sloppy know nothing broker.
