Volvo starter motor MD2030D

Have been thinking about buying some spares for my Volvo Penta MD2030D engine, with a view to cruising far flung places. One suggestion was to take, amongst others, a spare starter motor. This has been priced at £600! Apparently they no longer do an "exchange" and this is the price of a new starter motor.

This is out of the question for me, and was wondering if any forumites know the details of the starter motor for this engine. I have looked on my engine, but cannot see any serial nos or other information on the starter motor which I could use. It is probably a Bosch motor, but without the detailed specification, don't know how to source one at a sensible price. How are starter motors specified?

Any helpful suggestions welcome.

stamped on starter body opposite side to solenoid, I expect you will have to remove and wire brush in order to view.

given that the base engine is Jap, it could be Hitachi.
