I need a new exhaust elbow for my TAMD 71B. I have the older type elbow which are notoriously pants, and it is on it's way out.

There are four items required to upgrade to the later design, the elbow, flange, gasket and v clamp.

the prices are as follows:

Local Volvo dealer -----------£750 + vat
Keypart --------------------------£720 + vat delivered
US Volvo dealer --------------£450 delivered

I expect to pay vat on the parts from the US. They are in stock and can ship at once.

So a saving of £352 buying from the US, and they have to be delivered half way around the globe!

Rip off Britain strikes again.

It helps if you have the Volvo part numbers when looking up prices.
If you telephone and speak to Mr J.D. Neeson you may be able to negotiate a better price than on the website. I managed another 15%.

Are you sure you wont have to pay import duty as well? Maybe not if the parts were originally made in the EC but worth checking with HM C & E

Thats good. I expect it works for Cat spares as well. Any contacts?

Checked out the cost of a gear set for the lower unit of a 280b and it was higher than that quoted by Keyparts!!

Am I doing something wrong?

PS

Anybody know of a 280b leg being scrapped ? - need a gear set 1.61:1 ratio.

John.
