can anyone advise me where to get a workshop manual for a volvo saildrive 120s.

I've bought the kit to replace the saildrive seal which contains some gaskets, but not all. any advice on what additional seals should be replaced while it is out....thanks

Both the 120S saildrive kits I have bought had all the gaskets needed plus full instructions. There was a PBO article on changing the saildrive seal which was useful to have at the time but I can't remember what issue it was published in.

The official workshop manual is not that easy to follow and is very expensive. You may still be able to get it from Keypart.

The only other seals which tend to fail are those on the prop shaft but you can replace those with the saildrive in place and the boat ashore. I've replaced those once myself but the second time I took the unit into a marine engineers and paid them to do it. They carry out a pressure test afterwards to check for leaks caused by wear on the shaft.

Could the copy of the thread below be the one you are referring to ?

There's an account in the March 2011 PBO (p65-69) which is good. It also mentions fitting SKF "Speedi-sleeves" to cover the wear grooves as an alternative to getting the shaft built up and machined.
