I find the blue plastic turn wheel on the seacock very akward to use although the seacock is quite free in itself, situation made worse by a deep engine box on my LM30. Has anybody carried out improvements or replacement of this wheel at all?

We riveted a metal loop to ours, on our Moody 30, which helped and also allowed the use of tools when required. I can get to the handle by lying over the companionway, head down into engine compartment. My wife prefers to stand down beside the engine on the starboard side, leading over the engine to reach the seacock on the portside.

Got exactly the same problem, damed awfull design. Our last boat had a leaver on the seacock, I wonder now if that was a mod someone had made.

yup. ours was like that until i changed it for a conventional seacock with a handle on lift out last year. from memory a new seacock from VP was about 25 squid. I prefer the more positive shut off with a handle you can actually see it's on or off.

My seacock gets stiffer (This is not a Lounge post!!!) when the engine compartment gets hotter when running. Any coments on this?
