Volvo Saildrive oil (again)

I'm 3000 miles away from my Boat and really can't remember which Leg my boat has!!
Can't really remember much about last weekend, and it's only Tuesday.
Thanks though........
Why are you worrying about a few days ago? Look to the future. ;)
My mother was being tested for Alzheimer’s. Doc asked her what she had for breakfast that day. As quick as a flash she said " Sod breakfast, I am more worried about what I am getting for tea"
Iam not sure what box the doctor ticked for that one.

There you go Chris , straight out of the main man month .
Yep, that certainly helps and saves a few hundred quid! In the meantime it’s a good reason to motor less, sail more and keep a lookout for a cheap lift on our travels.

Thanks again everybody for taking the time with my dilemma.

Chris

@Crisby , you still in Greece Chris?
We totally left the Med and now sailing in Northern Europe ,
Netherlands for the time being , if we can drag ourself away for easy sailing short days we head for Denmark.
It's ant half hot here , anchored in the lakes all on our own most nights .

I would just use it. The oil that has been filled has plenty of EP in it, I cannot see why synthetic base oil would make a huge difference. It has fabulous rheological properties that make a big difference for hydrodynamic lubrication but that doesn't exist in gears.
Thanks Vyv that will certainly help me sleep soundly until the next lift

Yep, still here. Spent the winter in Lefkas to experience winter here, better than the Uk but still cold at times. Went back to the UK a few months ago to finalise the house sale and just relaunched, probably one more year here then start thinking about heading west.
Glad to see you’ve taken the med heat with you, new places is one of the best things about cruising so I’m sure you are having a good time wherever you are.
