Good morning all. I know this has been covered before but I have just had two new interceptors fitted and all was ok until a couple of days ago. Went out and trimmed the boat to give us a smooth ride in what was a bit of a choppy sea. Anchored up then on the way back two flashing led 6+7 on the port side and no trim deployment. Got back to the dock, tried to calibrate but no luck same error. Can’t head any of the motors running and both tabs will not extend. Could this be the control unit or tab failure. Any help on testing would be great.

"Flashing: LED number 6 and 7 on port side are flashing. Error: Indicates that the interceptor blade(s) on port side are stuck and can not reach the correct position."

If you have calibrated again and are still getting the same error, then I would check the wiring for loose connectors, then consider that the tab itself might have become faulty.

Most likely the gears inside the interceptor. Not repairable. Over 5 years and 700 hours I had to replace 4 of them. Finally had enough and installed Zipwakes this year. So far extremely pleased.

Thanks for the reply. Went to 5he boat today and double checked all wiring etc and found no issues there so I moved on to the controller and checked that. I had a similar problem about 18 months ago and it was a faulty controller but the error the was 3+4 on the panel . Replaced it and all was well. The saga continues this season and had to replace the port side interceptor because there was a water leak due to a bad seal so I had both changed at the same time. Into the water and for about 5 hours of engine time the issue with the interceptors began. So today I removed the plugs from the controller and swapped things around and on the calibration test the interceptors deployed both port and starboard however once finished now the error is 3+4 on the panel. I am going to replace the controller tomorrow and see if that’s the problem. Fingers crossed that as the interceptors deploy it will be the controller and not the interceptors

Ditto NY Boater.

I had 2 blades go in two seasons and one of the connector boards go too which some how corroded inside its housing inside the engine room. So 75% components failure! Not covered under warranty either.

I will have Bennet trim tabs next time.
