Has anyone ever tried contacting Volvo direct?

The brushes on my QL bow-thruster have burnt out due to the motor engaging in my absence without the shaft in place.

I am told that the motor is still working but I need to acqire a new set of brushes. The Volvo dealers tell me it is not on the parts list and I cannot contact Volvo as I am getting this message on their website which is very unhelpful:-

"We are unable to provide technical support via email or over the phone. Your best contact for questions around technical issues, support, service, or parts & accessories is your Volvo Penta dealer"

Can anyone help me please?

Examine the motor for any markings or serial numbers, its almost certainly a starter motor off of something. Then go from there, alternativlely take it to a startmotor reconditioner I bet he will recognise it instantly.

or try this for a parts list that includes brushes
