can the volvo penta md 2030/ 40 rawater pump be modified to fit the md 2010/20 engine ? anyone know ??

The 2030 raw water pump is too powerful for the engine as it is. I suspect it would blow the rubbers on the heat exchanger on the 2010/20.

Can you not rescue the pump? If it's like the 2030 unit the only parts that are Volvo specific are the shaft and casting. Can you change the seals?
