Volvo Penta TMD22 Gearbox Specification

Can anybody tell me the correct gearbox to fit on this engine, its an inboard shaft drive on a yacht, i currently have a Hurth 100 fitted to it and its the incorrect gearbox for this engine. no matter where i search im not getting much joy.

I would also appreciate anyone who owns a tmd22, if you dont mind telling me which gearbox you have fitted.

The hurth 250 is rated for 110hp or around abouts, but then the hurth 125 is rated at 75hp.

i would be interested in hearing from anyone who has a hurth125 fitted, how do you get on with it?

The hurth 100 is rated to 53hp and my engine is 78hp, it explains alot as i have been getting trouble sometimes when i want it to go into gear, it evenetually goes but clearly its undersized for my engine.

there is a rather big price difference between the hurth 125 and the 250 and if i can get the 125 without getting the same problems i am getting now then i shall buy the cheaper one!

Anyone know where to get one?

I have been told by a dealer that the volvo part number MS25L

But i have tried searching it with no joy. The dealer is going to give me a price tommorow, and being a volvo part i am no doubt going to hit the roof when he gives me a price.

I want to try and find out how much i should be paying and not get ripped off. Im assuming i can fit cheaper/other types of gearbox to this engine to?

Anybody know of any?

I have the same engine and as Stu said it an MS2. I expect you will hit a heart attack mode sometime soon.
