Volvo Penta TAMD 41 D Manual

Hi, jumping into this thread that is quite old. I have to reset the timing on a TAMD41. Two questions:
Which of the manuals do I download for timing instructions, specs, etc.?
Does anyone know which Volvo "tools" I need to do this. There is an ebay listing for "Volvo Diesel D-24 Engine Tools" but I want to make sure I get the right dial indicator, cam lock, etc.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Sorry, I found the timing in the fuel manual and the part numbers. I just dont know where to buy the dial indicator, holder, locking lug tool. Any thoughts?

Hi, I am new to the forum. found the forum via google search. I am getting into a new renovation project of a TAMD41D from 1995 from a 7.5m fast rescue boat. The engine is 20+ years old but not used a lot - as I am told it was used as a tender on a bigger boat (hour meter not in function...:(). The engine never had any major overhaul. It is starting fine, no obvious leaks, clean oil, etc... except the turbocharger which looks pretty suspicious to me. See picture : on one side the white (salt?) stuff on the compressor housing with some leaking oil from the compressed air hose and on the other side the rust on the turbine housing. additionally, the air filter which is not OEM. All this makes me feel it will get expensive. Would you have any clue or advice?

Yes…that turbo is toast. They‘re considered a service item on anything painted green ?

charge air cooler will need a clean too. The oil is likely blow past from the knackered turbo bearings.

it’s a boat….it’s always expensive ?

Thank you guys!!!
I've been looking for these specifications all day and almost gave up. I registered specifically to say thank you. Just in case, I’ll add a couple of tags here so that others can find this topic!
