Hi folks. The Volvo Penta tachos both display 600RPM on the digital display (please see attached) as they should but the needle on the Port Tacho shoes 1200RPM Any idea on how we can fix this? Thanks in advance.

Does the port tachometer read consitently 600rpm too high throughout the rev range of the engine?

I have replaced the LCD hour counters on my tachometers. They are the earlier type.
You will need to remove the tachometer .
Exactly how it comes apart may possibly be found on youtube. I watched loads of youtube videos and my tachometers were slightly different but in the end it was an easy job.
I suggest a need for good light. I did it at home rather than on the boat.
Once the instrument is out the pointer could , in my case, be rotated anticlockwise on its spindle by the required amount .

PS You might find the lens can be removed without removing the instrument from its case. . I am not sure about that.
