Morning all,

unfortunately we have lost confidence in the boatyard that were meant to have rectified our issues with the engine. Can anyone recommend a decent Volvo specialist that might be able to help us and works around Pembrokeshire? Doesn't have to be a main dealer or anything just someone who has good knowledge of the diesels and outdrives.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like your in the same yard that the boat I’m working on. This boat has been sent up to me from your area for me to sort an edc issue. In 31 years I have never seen such incompetence from so called Volvopenta engineers , what I have found is unbelievable and I am informed from the owner it was a dealer well known boat builder .
Good luck in your search for a competent trustworthy engineer.
After seeing this boat I can see why I am always being asked to travel to Wales , it seems that Volvopenta UK have no interest in supporting that area of the uk , it seems that the world stops after the Central south coast where it’s support network is well supported.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

The trouble we have is two engineers have worked on the engine and drive and both have handed in their notice to the boatyard for various reasons. The boatyard no longer has an onsite engineer but we still have ongoing issues (RPM lower than what it should be even in neutral, power steering oil leak near the transom). We have already paid out over £3k to the yard. I believe they lied about the performance results from a sea trial conducted a couple of months back. There is a Volvo main dealer here but I'd be very reluctant to use them - I'm sure they could solve the issues but I'm told they charge astronomical prices. Ps, engine has had a brand new turbo.
