Hi
I wish to replace the raw water pump sealing rings on our VP MD11C. VP part no 833996
Marine parts europe will supply the two rings for euro20 but charge as much again for postage. Both rings would fit inside a small envelope so it seems excessive. Could anyone recommend an alternative supplier?

Thanks

I have used http://www.keypart.com quite happily for parts to service my VP2003.
Delivery costs have been reasonable.

Did you try calling MP Europe to asks them if they will charge a reasonable price in this case?
I had a similar situation (high default shipping price) with a parts supplier and they happily reduced the cost.

MP europe seem to use Fed EX for carriage so they may not be that flexible. i have bought parts from keypart before but i dont see this part on their catalogue - might try a phone call during the week.

I buy from Keypart, as a customer, every winter I am offered free carriage from about Nov. to March, this keeps me loyal. They know what engine I have and list the parts for it, they stock genuine VP and also the cheaper aftermarket filters, impellers, anodes etc.
Only problem is they may not extend the free carriage deal to Ireland.

If you can wait a week or two I could include your seals with my order and post them over to you?

I guess, from your user-name that you are are in Galway, but the only Irish sources I can think of are in Dublin. I'm not sure about your particular model, but a lot of VP's small engines are based on Perkins originals. the raw water pump may well be a Jabsco or Johnson one, in which case you don't need a VP part at all and can choose from a much wider range of suppliers. Perhaps some forum members might be able to contribute some info here.
Try Edina ltd., in Finglas Road Industrial Estate, Glasnevin. www.edina.ie/ they are primarily Perkins dealers, but do also stock VP.
Also try the nice people at Marine Parts Direct, in Swords, www.marineparts.ie
or Pat O'Donnell in Chapelizod, www.patodonnell.ie/
I only have experience of buying from Edina, MPD's website is a bit clunky, so phone them. Don't know much about P O'Donnell, but I believe they install marine engines.
