Hi still having no luck with my out drive kicking up in reverse after lifting boat out 4 times as it only does it in the water replaced springs gear cable now I have brought a replacement lock question is can it be fitted by assembling lock assembly on out drive with out taking the out drive appart I think I can has anyone done it cheers Barrynv

Sorry to hear of on going problem
Have you checked the condition of the bar that the pawls lock onto.
just a chance that it is worn.
I suppose you probably have.Excuse for askiing

You can do it by just taking top half of leg off, if I remember right.

What I want to know is can I dismantle the lock assembly leaving the bronze collar on the outdrive and re assembling the lock assembly has anybody done this or knows if it is possible

Fixed it at last to other people with this problem make sure your engine is ticking over as low as you can mine was not it is now works as it should do now
