Does anyone have the correct part number for the rubber impeller for the above engine? I've tried to find the number on the internet but get conflicting results!

Thanks.

875583 says MD7A on it.

P.S. you're welcome to this one should you care to send me an SAE.

I think it will depend on exactly what pump is fitted There are two possible obsolete original pump numbers listed and one replacement pump number. Consequently two obsolete impeller kit numbers , and one current kit number.

If you have an obsolete pump you may need to change the whole thing to a current pump type.

The number SteveN quotes is for one of the obsolete pump types

See http://www.marinepartseurope.com/uk/en/volvo-penta-cat-7742080.aspx

and also http://www.keypart.com/volvo-penta/diesel-engine/md7a/19761981

Thanks for this info Vic, all I know is the engine is original to the boat which was built in 1979. There are no markings on the pump to identify which impeller will fit. The impeller Steve_N has offered me looks correct, at least visually so I'm going to take up his generous offer and see if it fits. Thanks for your help.

It will be quite obvious I think if its the right one or not. If it looks right it almost certainly is right

Even comparing the pump with the diagrams in the link I gave should tell you before removing the impeller which is what

There are only 3 things you need to specify. No of vanes, depth of impeller, overall diameter and fixing type to shaft. (4 things). You can ask a potential supplier before buying.

i have a Johnson pump on my md7a and I use a f35 impeller. the Volvo penta impeller is slightly to small for my pump which affects the amount of water which is sent around the system.
