I recently started a thread on the loss of drive that occured on my Penta MD2040b with MS2LD gearbox.

The cause is as per the photos, which show the vibration damper plate between the engine and gearbox. It is a rubber-jointed thing which bolts onto the flywheel with the gearbox shaft into the splined hole. Clearly mine has seen better days...!

The volvo part number is 872809 (used on several MD engines) and retails at around £470, which is eye-wateringly expensive.
Anybody every replaced thier damper?
Did you find an alternative part that is a bit cheaper that did the job?
Thanks.
