3000 hours, 10 years old, runs perfect when started.
Last few months starting has got progressively worse taking 6 or 7 10 sec bursts.
Used to be instantaneous
Starts better if it has been run within last 5 or 6 hours.
Recently forgot to use glows & it started immediately even though it had not run for 7 hours
Sometimes get a cloud of white smoke on start up
Engine often fires intermittently when being cranked over as though only going on one cylinder
No loss of cooling water so do not expect water in head gasket ( but possible i suppose)
vacuum valve working so do not expect water getting sucked back when stopping
Batteries ok gives 12.8 volts & spins engine freely
Decompressor shuts off ok so not remaining partly open
Had 2 glows out today & wired to a battery - ok
Power is getting to glows so not the relay
Pretty sure no air leaks
Cleaned the tank last year
Have renewed filters
Never had to disconnect fuel pipes on actual engine so still as new so do not expect air leaks on that section
Any idea where i go from here please?
