Hi Wiggy, Look on Ebay in Boat Parts and Maintenance. Put VOLVO filters into the search There is someone selling equivalent filters belts and impellers for your engine. His ebay
name is westerlysailor. I bought a service kit from him for my 2010 -the parts are
probably the same. If you have the Volvo diesel primary filter 861477 this is the same
as the CAV/Lucas 296 which you can get from commercial diesel specialists, from Halfords
as HDF296 or from the internet as FRAM C-1191PL-much cheaper than the V.... part.
The oil filter volvo part 861473 is FRAM PH4386 Ive not found it in Halfords yet.
I got a spare fanbelt in Halfords by taking the old one off and just matching it up for size.
There is a bit of leeway in the adjustment. Keep up the fight against expensive parts!

I sourced a couple of FRAM C-1191PL and when I tried to do a filter change(old HDF296) for the FRAM, it would not fit. The O/D of the rim was fractionally too big for my CAV/Lucas water separator. I had to re-fit the 296 until I could get some more 296's. I bought 8 x Delphi @ £1.93 off the net. PM me if you would like the company name.

I've used them several times now, the filters do the job, fit just fine and are dirt cheap in comparision to Volvo bits. All the usual stuff about nothing to do with the company, just a satisfied customer etc etc.

if you go to a decent motor factors you can get items cheaper than halfords, i bought 4 years worth of fuel and oil filters (8) for my engine for less than £16, retail marine you would pay £11 for one filter

Which Motor factors are you referring to, you'd need the conversion / and catalogue number and manufacturers name; referring to the VP filter number probably would not appear in a car reference manual, certainly not Halford's; so name of company would be useful if you have another source for future queries.

If you have the Volvo part number for the filter, just go to the site I posted above, put in the number and it will take you straight to their equivilent filter. No need to go scratching round talking to puzzled pimply youths in a motor factors.

My local motor factor (CPA, Brighton based) found equivalents from the VP numbers with no difficulty.
You can also look them up on Fram's website.

Hello guys,
Our yachting club in St Malo, just get the following trouble with a md2020-d bt (see attached picture) : support of cooling water was broken all around.
Does it exist any mechanical solution to fix that trouble except to change all the cooling part ?

You might have done better to have started a new thread of your own rather than hi-jack a 11 year old one about filters.

However the problem ( very poor design IMHO) has been mentioned before. Maybe someone with first hand experience of this will spot your post otherwise try reposting as a new thread with an appropriate title.
