Does anyone know where I can get a new drain plug for my engine? I think it's brass.

Sump plug looks a good idea. From further research the thread appears to be M10 x 1 which must be fairly common. I have a friend with an engineering works at his disposal so could ask him if the original beggar doesn't turn up. I drained the block for the winter and, cleverly I thought, left the plug out to drain any residue or condensation - now I can't find it but it may turn up before commissioning time.
Good news! I've found it but the thread looks a bit manky. Haven't got any accurate measuring equipment but using a tape, it appears to be a taper thread 10mm - 9mm and 1mm pitch. Hex head (12mm) and thread length 10mm.
Yes I agree my measurements with a flexible tape are unlikely to be within 0.1mm. If 1/2" bsp I can probably get one from a plumbers merchant.
