KAD indicates a sterndrive installation while KAMD is shaft drive.
KAD and KAMD engines with the same following reference number are otherwise identical - supercharged , turbocharged and aftercooled (even though there is no T for turbo in the engine reference).
K being Kompressor in case anyone wondered how the K signifies the presence of a Supercharger.
