VOLVO PENTA DP-E Stripped drain plug thread

Not sure how that would help?
I assumed you ran the correct size dye over the sealing bolt first ? Which is the first port of call .Some times in mild x threading that’s enough.A kit like this below redefines it’s thread .Re tapping the same size inside the casing also helps .Fingers crossed etc .

Failing ^” then use a tap “
You use a kit or if you have access to a near slightly larger tap + fresh plug .
In the automotive world ( not that dissimilar re soft alloys of castings ) here is a typical example for illustration.

But there will be a multitude of others probably VP engineers use .

Is that our resident engineer Brucek
There is Volvo legs hanging off every lamp post in Deganwy.

Nope
Snot He!
This Chap is a ‘Real Engineer’?

Next time either of you comes sniffing my way for free advice and to borrow tools I'm not going to ask you to kiss my left cheek, nor right cheek, but point you to the groove.
As to the OP all I'll say is the Flyingspanner is on to something unless its too long or wide. But I do have helicoils should you so choose, but if possible I'd just rethread unless the parent is rotted. Stainless steel bungs in ali. Whatever next?
