Volvo penta D6 exhaust elbow

Hi,
Just removed the exhaust elbow from my 2006 Volvo Penta D6. On the outlet side of the exhaust there is a stainless steel baffle plate on the water outlet. It looks like it could be some sort of a retrofit repair? It doesn't look like it would allow much water flow? Pictures attached, any input appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, that looks like the one. Pity there wasn't a picture of the outlet end to check. Thank you for the info.
