We have a couple of 2008 VP D6 370hp engines and would like to understand how we can extract/query fuel consumption data from both engines. We have tried scrolling through the gauges on the dashboard but these don't contain any fuel consumption data. I am unsure if this is because the engine doesn't record that data or if we just need some sort of software upgrade/update. I know of the VP easy connect tool and previously installed it on a smaller gasoline powered boat. That was easy and quick, but I am unsure if this is the solution in this case since the standard gauges doesn't contain the relevant data.

The boat is quite new to us so the fuel consumption would be quite useful in working out the optimal speed/trim/drive-trim configurations. Maybe someone has a solution for this or know of some third-party NMEA solutions we could consider?

Many thanks.

I have the same engines - you'll need a VP software upgrade to get the data you want but it won't be cheap - several hundred pounds I think but others on here might know the actual figure.

Friend of mine has pair of these engines in a 2006 Rodman with IPS.
It definately has the fuel consumption option on the gauges.
At 30 ish knots it was consuming 160 litres per hour.

You would need the ‘Trip Computer’ software upgrade for this, which is available for generations EVC-C1 onwards. Do you know your EVC generation? If you send the engine serial number then I can look up the latter and let you know if it’s compatible with Trip Computer
Where is the boat?
