Volvo penta bellhousing

Im trying to remove the bell housing from my penta 100 leg, i have taken the leg off and removed the 6 tabbed bolts (5 of them snapped) but still it wont budge ? have i missed something or do i have to take the transom mount? off too ?

Sounds like you'll need 2 new sealing rings....take out a second mortgage.

A mortage for 2 rubber rings ?

Anywho, been down today and beat the fook out of the bellhousing with no joy, it moves but just springs straight back, tomorrow we will be going down to drill out the snapped bolts hoping that this may help.

Any other ideas ?

In that case, bell housing is probably stuck in transom shield by the rubber seal. It should pry off with a bit of effort. You have removed the outer clamp ring held by the 6 tabbed bolts and not just removed the bolts?

Ah not quite, just the bolts i take it this ring has come off before the bellhousing will ?

Managed to get the bellhousing off today, using 2 car jacks either side of the bellhousing and winding them out together it came off.

The out clamping ring has cracked and is now in 2 pieces anywhere i can get another one ? , the sealing rings are in good condition suprisingly.

Jus gotta get the new engine in
