Hi, can anybody help please?
My Trim Pump failed beyond economic repair and I have had to replace it. The Trim Pump is the older model without the reservoir and I have replaced it with a direct OEM 852928-1 pattern replacement which is an ARC6224.
Has anybody fitted one of these?
The only difference I can tell is that the hydraulic hose connections are on the rear whilst the original was on the front. Unfortunately it does not say which the low pressure connection is and which the high pressure connection is. The workshop manual clearly states “it is vital that they be reconnected to the correct hose connection”. The new pump is fitted with a couple of blanking screws, a couple of nylon blanking plugs and one uncovered connection.
I removed the blanking screws and fitted the hoses to them as that seems logical – but as soon as push the tilt button the fluid pumps into the bilge. It looks like it is coming from the uncovered connection. Of course I could blank that off or “experiment” but it would be nice to confirm the exact connections. Of course no instructions can be found and the supplier cannot help.

I have fitted a non genuine pump from Trickett marine, if you compare it to the volvo one you can work out the correct connections, from memory there are drillings but 2 are false, your close to getting it right, id connect the tilt/up hose to the one that spilt fluid out, then reverse the pump to watch the other outlet that spills oil.

Though im sure a quick comparison of the old one will sort it for you.
