The alarm test on my Volvo Penta 2040b engine control panel does not function anymore, any ideas where you can obtain the electronic unit from without paying Volvo Penta prices. it looks like it's made by VDO.

Volvo part no:- VP 873 737
VDO Part no:- N03 320 789

Thanks

The alarm test circuit (box with 4 warning lights) can be bought for 130 pounds from Volvo Penta. I assume we have managed to get water in ours, our boat is not designed that well the engine control panel is just above the floor and when beating in heavy weather the control panal is quite often getting wet.

I have also spent the last couple of evenings cleaning all the connectors up and checking the continuity with a volt meter. Hoping to solve it.

For now I assume I can take the spade connectors off the relevant components to check they are working correctly, ie alternator, oil pressure.

If they are VDO bits, look on eBay - there is a guy on there who regularly has lots of VDO stuff at very good prices - his eBay identification is:- lowtension.ltd I believe you can search on this all his items will come up - then send him a message via the "ask seller a question" link from one of his auctions.
