Supercharger bearing clutch failure at 625 hours on D6 engine.
The attached photos show the damage - the shaft to the bearing clutch broke.
The belts and pulleys were serviced at 600 hours and the accreditied Volvo engineer said the bearing was checked for noise at the time, none existed.
The failure happened at 625 hours.
The launch is not used for trolling and the aergae speed would be around 26 knots
My questions are;
Could aything have been done to stop the clutch failure?
Should the belt and pulley service cover the clutch - Volvo's 2 year warranty on parts and labour
Is this a known fault at such low hours?
Thoughts and advice please
