Volvo Penta 2003t Starter Motor, Which one?

Can I recommend this:

We fitted one last year, and it totally transformed starting of our engine. It appears to place a lot LOWER load on the batteries, yet spins the motor much faster than our old one. It looked small and lighter than the original, but the performance is exceptional. This was on a 2003, so you should be fine.

We also had a pair of alternators off them, again, they exceeded our expectations and work perfectly at way less than the official Volvo Penta price.

A cracking company, I was very pleased with the products, prices and service.

There were several starters used on 2000 system you need to start with engine Specification number and work from there
There is a real mess with this and it changed several time particularly between insulated and earth return systems and a couple at least of hybrid set ups taking details of the original starter will help especially if it’s been replaced already taking the existing one with you helps
You will probably need a hex socket and extension to get the the inside retaining socket screw off

Still don't know exactly which one, I have been told that there are few different models for Volvo Penta 2003t build 1991 ?
I am still struggling to take the starter motor off! I have removed heath exchanger, alternator, and looks like I need to make my Allan key size 10mm, slightly shorter to be able to insert in. I did try with sockets but no space...
Volvo some simple thinks make really awkward ... This weekend another try!
Well, now we will need all set of rubber washers to refit heath exchanger and looks like will be good to replace alternator as well( looks really tired and rusty)

I made lots of photographs if any one needs, I can email or what's app directly as its impossible to download here.

The Starter is in t ich wo Version available

I have one I bought hoping to better the starting performance of my 1989 VP 2002.
It made no difference so after 24 hours I replaced the old one. It is now in my garage if your interested, and it is the right model for your engine I will sell it for £40 plus postage.

Yes please, can you please send me the pictures so I can compare with my old one. I’ll pm you my email and What’s App
Sounds good, Thanks!

I have a 2003t too. I should be very interested to see your photos and to follow your progress especially with the heat exchanger which I anticipate it may be useful for me to take a look at and clean out this Winter. I shall Pm you an email address.

Be sure when you do clean your heat exchanger to perform a pressure test afterwards. Bunging up one of the coolant holes and applying pressure to the other, then watch for bubbles with it in a bucket of water.

I cleaned our this winter and it seemed fine, but had developed a leak, you can easily spot a leak when your engine header tank gets more water in it than it should have. We have temporarily bodged ours by filling the offending tube with 291i, I'll drill it out and solder in a new one over winter ... it's tempting to just do them all ...
