Volvo penta 2002 raw water flow problem

Hi,
I have a Volvo 2002. The pump was intermittent (not only after sailing). Bought a new pump from www.seaanskimarine.com in US for about U$ 450, dispatched in 24hours. My pump is a Johnson Volvo Penta 840557 (search on the number). There are also service kits for the front plate, rear wear washer and the cam. I installed the new pump and rebuilt the old one as a working spare. The new one is like a fire hose compared with a dribble. Good luck, Andrew

+1 we had exactly the symptoms described and replaced the cover with a Speedseal. No return of the problem since fitted three years ago.
