I have an old (1981) Sunseeker Offshore 28' fitted with twin Volvo diesels powering duoprop outdrives. I understand that originally she would have been fitted with single prop outdrives and an electric adjustment mechanism. The duoprops fitted I believe would have had an hydraulic lifting mechanism. Apparently the two systems were incompatible but the previous owner obviously believed the benefits of the duoprops outweighed the drawbacks of non-adjustable legs. The original helm controls that are fitted merely serve to release the locks allowing the legs to kick up. What would I require to make the legs adjustable as originally intended? Can it even be done? Any valid views on this would be appreciated. The boat otherwise goes well and rises onto the plane with ease. Are the trim tabs fitted an acceptable substitute for the lack of leg adjustment?
