Hi Guys,
Well, boat is out of the water this week for stern drive service (and gelcoat repairs, antifoul etc.) all ready for the new boating season. Great, good plan, now going seriously wrong....
Fist thing, the lift out was a day late, so engineers now have 4 days not 5 to do a weeks worth of work.
Next, they find steering bush problems, bit complicated for me, but big additional bill - hohum me thinks, well there's always something extra!
But now, they tell me three of the four rams need replacing, because the seals have gone. This wouldn't be so expensive if a service kit was available from Volvo, but apparnetly they now only sell the replacement rams, at over £400 plus VAT each!!!!
Does anyone know where suitable non-Volvo relplacement ram seals can be sourced from?
Thanks.
