Volvo MS 2 B Gearbox

On the gearbox is a triangular shaped lever to shift it from neutral to forward or reverse.
Attached (adjustable) is the shifting cable to the throttle lever. I would like to check the adjustment of the cable.
Does anyone know the procedure to do this?

is your propeller turning in neutral ? If that happens, the konus inside the gearbox may need adjustmment. Its done with shimming the bolt going into the gearbox.

Everything is working fine.
I was just wondering if the lever going into the gearbox has a neutral position so that I can put the throttle in neutral and see if the positions of the cable and the lever are matching.

it has a position, where it is at rest. If you disconnect the cable, you can feel it quite clearly. The "clutch" is operated with the small movement of the bolt going into the gearbox. That is the reason, why it has to be shimmed, if the clutch does not disengage anymore. (5000 h plus). The big up and down movement gives the direction.

that was the information I was looking for, it has a rest position that can be felt clearly.
Mine has done 690 hours so compared to 5000 hours plus this is not much.
I just want to make sure that the adjustment of the cable is correct. Knowing it has a middle position this should be easy.
